The company plans to use this capital to increase its domestic manufacturing footprint. "The money that we received from the tariff refunds is being reinvested to expand production capacity in the U.S.," Taneja said.
Taneja set expectations for the physical execution of this expansion, stating, "I'd like to stress that we like to do a lot of hardcore, real grunt work to get production facilities up and running."
Looking ahead, Taneja noted that capital expenditures "for the next few years would continue to expand as we add more Robotaxi fleet, we expand our production capacity for Optimus, install manufacturing capacity for solar, purchase additional AI compute infrastructure, and build a semiconductor fab."
Expanding Factory Footprint
