Online brokerage Robinhood Markets (NASDAQ: $HOOD ) has added $25 million U.S. of Bitcoin (CRYPTO: $BTC ) to its balance sheet.
The company, which offers stock and crypto trading through a popular app, said it added Bitcoin to its corporate balance sheet to demonstrate that it cares about the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
Robinhood is one of several U.S. companies that is holding Bitcoin as a treasury asset. By some estimates, there are now 170 companies worldwide that have BTC on their balance sheet.
